How To
Build A Computer - Free Videos and Tutorials
Installing
The Cards
Installing your cards is very easy and requires only one screw and
sometimes plugging in the power wire that comes off of some cards.
Now install your pci cards beginning at the top (nearest to the
power supply) starting with your video card. If your Video Card is
agp then install it in the agp slot if it is pci put it in the first
available slot.
Towards the bottom back of the case you will see several slots.
These slots are usually covered by small pieces of metal. To install
the card just remove the piece of metal by snapping it off. Then
take the card and slide in down plugging the card into its
respective slot. Try not to force the cards into their spots. The
card will only fit in the hole that they are designed for. If the
card comes with a wire that hangs of plug it in to the nearby plug
on the motherboard. If you can not find it refer to your motherboard
manual.
Connect your audio cable(s) from your CD drive(s) to your sound card
(Only one will fit so it is easy to figure out). Your connection for
this may be on the Motherboard if you an integrated sound card
(refer to motherboard manual). Connect the power cables coming from
the power supply to all your drives (they will only fit one way).
Connect your case leads (wires connecting your Motherboard to your
case for the power, reset switches and led's) to your Motherboard
using the identifiers provided in the motherboard manual and/or case
manual provided.
Next install the RAM in its respective slot by simply lifting the
two tabs up and pushing the ram down in and push the tabs back down.
Make sure that you put DDR RAM in the ddr spot and SDRAM into its
right slot. You can only use one or the other you can not use both.
